Dating and experience with romance are relatively common – but far from universal – among teens ages 13 to 17.
Some 35% of teens have some type of experience in a romantic relationship, a figure that includes current and former daters, as well as those in serious and less-serious relationships.
I don’t remember the source but the statistics on relationship failure have always stuck with me. In 3 months time 85% of these couples will no longer be together or talking to eachother. 4 couples will make it to 1 year…Yikes that is 4% of the original group.
Now at this point there are only 15 of 100 couples remaining. 2 of these couples will wind up getting married or live common law together. I am someone who loves observing life and I notice little patterns…I also have a great mind for remembering people.
Some 30% of teen daters say they have ever had sex.
Age is the primary demographic dividing line when it comes to dating and romance.
As a 30 something the dating world now is a lot different than what it was when I was in Highschool.
These stats based on my experience are not too far off from being 100% accurate.
